With the solo exhibition “We Are All Big Country People,” Chinese artist Song Yongping brings to Madeinartgallery a visual and conceptual journey of rare intensity.
The works, ranging from painting to performative photography, reflect on the power of the image as a document, as protest, and as an act of memory. The erased faces, the bodies rendered symbolic, and the essential chromatic details narrate forced invisibility, the weight of history, and the fragility of the human condition.
An exhibition that speaks of denied identities, family memories (as in the photographic work My Parents), and forgotten communities, where art becomes a means to give voice back to what has been silenced.
Song Yongping invites us to look beyond the image and within it, opening a space that is both intimate and political.
