He currently lives and works in Beijing and is an internationally renowned contemporary artist and sculptor. He graduated from the Xiamen Academy of Arts and Crafts and later earned a Master of Arts from the Central Academy of Fine Arts. He is an Honorary Academician of the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, a Sino-Australian Art Ambassador, Vice President of the China New Ink Painting Academy and of the Luchao Art Research Institute on Gulangyu Island in Xiamen. He teaches as a Professor and Master’s Tutor at the College of Art and Design of Jimei University and is a Visiting Professor at several other universities, including Fujian Normal University, Huaqiao University, and Fuzhou University. He is a member of the China Artists Association. While he primarily creates sculptures, he also works with installations, painting, photography, contemporary calligraphy, and rural art. He is considered a visionary artist of magical realism and one of China’s pioneers of monumental public sculpture. His works stand out for their imagination, narrative strength, and visual impact. Among his most representative series are “Red Boy” and “Happy Life”, symbols of his ironic, poetic, and at the same time monumental approach to contemporary Chinese society.
