Cold

“Cold” represents bodily tension as an emotional expression. The red body, curled inward in a gesture of defense and vulnerability, epitomizes Chen Wenling’s style: ironic, direct, and at the same time intensely human. The work reflects on the relationship between individual and society, on modesty, isolation, and psychological resilience. It is an icon of the human condition reinterpreted through the lens of contemporary Chinese pop language.
