Born in Xiamen in 1991, he is a multidisciplinary artist who skillfully weaves together Eastern aesthetics and Western influences. He began his artistic journey at a young age, receiving recognition in national and regional competitions, with some of his early works entering the collections of the Yan Huang Art Museum and the Suining Art Museum. After earning a degree in Social and Cultural Analysis from New York University and a master’s from the Weatherhead East Asian Institute at Columbia University, he further developed his artistic practice at the Art Students League of New York (2011–2016), and in 2020 completed the first advanced course in abstract art at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing. He was a visiting scholar at the China National Academy of Painting from 2021 to 2022. His work combines traditional Chinese aesthetics and contemporary abstraction, using acrylic, ink, and mixed media to explore Taoist principles such as harmony, transformation, and the dissolution of form. He has exhibited in prestigious venues in New York, London, Venice, and Milan, including the Powerlong Art Center, the Guan Shanyue Art Museum, and the Song Art Museum. His awards include the Arte Laguna Prize for Young Artists, the Gold Medal at the 40th Florence Prize, and inclusion in Forbes China’s “30 Under 30” (2021) and “Global 100 Outstanding Chinese” (2022). He lives between Xiamen and New York.
